Moles will leave your garden beds alone: a simple design will make them retreat
Moles love to feast on earthworms, which are invaluable helpers for every summer resident.
In order to obtain protein food, the blind animals dig up the beds and lawn. Moles do not care how much time and effort was spent on the arrangement of the site.
Summer residents have a lot of means at their disposal to fight animals living underground. For example, there are special repellents. There are poisons and odorous compounds that also help gardeners.
But not everyone wants to use poisons, chemicals or spend money on traps. There is one old but proven way to make a mole stay away from the garden bed. The plantings will be in order, and the mole itself will be alive and well.
Soil animals do not like the trembling of the earth. Feeling vibrations at depth, they conclude that it is not safe on the surface. Animals avoid sources of noise.
Summer residents put pegs on the beds, to which they hang a bottle or a jar. It will "whistle" in the wind and will even drive away snakes. Instead of jars, they hang small objects: nails, plates, bolts, nuts. Swaying in the wind, they also create noise, which makes the mole look for prey elsewhere.
