The older the garden, the closer the time will come when one or more trees will have to be cut down.

It is not difficult to uproot a stump from an empty place using special equipment. It is another matter when the tree grew in the middle of a plot of land where it is not so easy to drive.

Experienced summer residents named three most effective ways to get rid of a stump without uprooting it. Sometimes you have to wait, and in other cases everything is quick.

Urea

A method for when there is no rush to remove the stump, because the process can take from 5-6 months to 2 years. The required time depends on the size of the stump.

The summer resident needs 30 minutes, a drill, a thick drill bit, a plastic bag, water and urea (carbamide).

Make 15-20 holes - depending on the size of the drill and the stump. Pour urea into the holes and pour water there.

The stump is wrapped in polyethylene and left for several months. Eventually the wood will soften so much that it can be easily removed.

Sodium and potassium nitrate

The method is not suitable if there are other crops at a distance of 1-1.5 m. The principle is the same as with urea, but the process is faster.

Saltpeter will dry out the tree from the inside. To avoid messing with the remains, the stump can be burned. Stumps cannot be burned on peat bogs.

Fire

You can do without saltpeter and urea. With the help of fire, you can get rid of the stump in a few hours. But the method can be used if there are no trees or buildings nearby.

Before starting the process, you need to clear the area of debris, dry grass and leaves.

Two holes need to be made in the stump. The first is vertical in the center. The second is made at an angle to the first so that the channels connect.

Pour 100-200 g of kindling or diesel fuel inside. The gasoline will burn out faster. Lower the wick into the hole and light it. Until the stump burns to the ground, the fire must not be left unattended.
