The only things dirtier in the kitchen than the refrigerator are probably the sink and the stove.

Cleaning the refrigerator compartment is not the easiest task. It takes a lot of time and effort.

But even in this case, there are tricks that help to do the work faster and less often. Experienced housewives have developed their own algorithm of actions.

Just remember these 5 steps to keep your refrigerator clean for a long time and make every cleaning as effective as possible.

Drawers and shelves

Start by washing the shelves and drawers of the refrigerator. It is best to do this in hot water with a gentle detergent.

If there are hard-to-wash food residues on the walls, place paper towels soaked in warm water on them for a couple of minutes. After this, the stains will be washed off without much difficulty.

Refrigerating chamber

To wash the walls of the refrigerator, prepare a solution of baking soda and water (1:7). Soak a sponge in the resulting liquid and wipe the surfaces. Finally, wipe the walls dry with paper towels.

Smells

Soda will also help neutralize the unpleasant smell inside the refrigerator. An open container of sodium bicarbonate is placed on the bottom shelf, which will absorb everything.

Washing outside

Wipe the outer parts with a cloth soaked in a universal cleaning agent. Pay special attention to the handles, where dirt often accumulates.

If the case is made of stainless steel, it should be wiped with two microfiber cloths. First use a damp one, and then go over it with a dry one. Stubborn dirt is washed off with a few drops of medical alcohol.

Prevention

Prevention plays a big role in keeping the refrigerator clean and tidy. It is better to fix some defect in a minute than to accumulate them for months and then spend several hours cleaning.

For example, if a product appears in the refrigerator that is about to spoil or is already expired, it is better to get rid of it so that the "aroma" does not spread throughout the entire chamber. If a stain appears, it is better to wipe it off immediately, because it is fresh and has not dried.
