In winter, mice and other rodent relatives are in full swing at summer cottages. It would be good if in spring they left the house and outbuildings and went into freelance work.

It happens that pests like living in a house so much that they are not going to leave it of their own free will.

In this case, you can use pesticides, which are abundant on the shelves of gardening stores. But there are several disadvantages.

Firstly, after tasting the poison, the mice may fall ill and die somewhere between the ceiling joists or under the floor. It is not difficult to imagine what awaits the inhabitants of the dwelling next, especially if the pestilence occurs on the scale of a mouse colony.

Secondly, pets can eat the spilled poison. It is even more dangerous to use such means if there are small children in the house. It is better not to think about the consequences.

What to do

A folk trick comes to the rescue, or more precisely, wood ash.

In order to drive mice out of the house, you will have to stock up on a large amount of ash. The consumption is approximately as follows: one bucket per 5-10 square meters, depending on the situation.

You need to do the following: Sift the ash if necessary, and then simply scatter it where mice most often appear.

You can sprinkle it in the cellar, in the corners, along the baseboards, or just on the floor if you are leaving the room for a while.

Mice will leave the house because the ash contains alkali. Settling on the rodents' paws, it will cause an unpleasant reaction, the mice will lick their paws, which will cause irritation of a different nature.
