Why You Shouldn't Leave Washed Clothes in the Washing Machine Even for an Hour: A Simple Explanation

Experienced housewives strongly recommend that if you don’t have time to hang up freshly washed laundry yourself, ask your family to help you.

The main thing is to unload the washing machine as soon as the washing process is finished, and not to put this task off until later.

What explains the need for such haste?

The thing is that behind the rubber seals of the washing machine you can often find various fungi and all sorts of harmful bacteria.

If the washed laundry continues to remain in the machine after washing, microorganisms will begin to actively multiply in conditions suitable for them.

In addition, the clothes will be saturated with an unpleasant damp smell.

You won’t be able to get rid of this smell by simply drying your clothes – you’ll have to force the machine to work again, and the water temperature should be above 60 degrees, and you won’t be able to do without using washing powder and fabric softener.

An important point: these rules apply equally to machine-washed clothes and those that got wet, for example, in the rain. If you don’t plan to refresh your damp laundry, don’t forget to dry it first.
