Firstly, it should be taken into account that hand washing is preferable for wool.
In the same case, if you still decide to turn to the washing machine for help, it is worth choosing a special mode, which is called "Wool". In the absence of such, use the delicate mode, choosing the minimum revolutions and refusing to spin.
Secondly, woolen items do not tolerate high temperatures, so never use hot water or, especially, boiling water for washing.
Thirdly: if you are faced with the task of getting rid of a stain, do not under any circumstances use a technique such as rubbing with your hands.
Instead, use a gentle stain remover. It will do much less damage to your clothes than washing them.
