People mainly use citric acid to remove scale from a washing machine, which, by the way, is not the only thing on which the world revolves.

Experts claim that all these products are good only at a certain stage and only for prevention, but not as the main component. Let's figure out if this is true.

Citric acid

It copes with both fresh and hardened scale. The main thing is to calculate the quantity correctly: for 1 kg of the machine drum load, you need to take about 20-30 grams of powder for effective cleaning.

Next, you need to pour them not into the drum, but into the powder tray, turn on the mode with the highest temperature and, after the mode is somewhere in the middle of the wash, you need to interrupt the process, stop the machine so that the solution is inside the drum for 2-3 hours. After this, you need to turn on additional rinsing. Cleaning is carried out only with an empty drum.

Vinegar

9% vinegar in the volume of 1.5-2 cups should be poured into the compartment for detergents, turn on the mode with high temperature and bring it to the end. Then you need to select the rinse mode.

Soda and vinegar

Mix ½ cup of baking soda and the same amount of water and add to the powder compartment, and pour 1 cup of 9% vinegar into the drum. Then follow the same procedure.

Compositions like "Whiteness" and similar ones cannot cope with scale, but can damage rubber seals. Of the industrial compositions, "Antinakipin" powders and their analogues are used.

But it is worth understanding that many of the presented products only soften water and therefore cannot cope with scale, so it is important to study their composition before purchasing.
