The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus reported whether sweets, caviar and tangerines will become more expensive by the New Year.
This topic was highlighted at a press conference by the head of the trade and catering organization department of the MART, Natalia Melnikova.
Her statement is cited by BELTA .
As Melnikova explained, confectionery products are subject to the Council of Ministers' resolution on price regulation, meaning that trade does not have the right to set a price higher than a certain trade markup.
An analysis of prices for New Year gifts compared to last year showed that the changes were actually less than 1 ruble, noted the representative of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
According to her, if there is an increase in prices, it is due to the rise in the price of cocoa beans, but this increase is insignificant.
MART does not expect a rise in the price of tangerines either. As for caviar, according to Melnikova, it is impossible to limit its cost price, since it is a foreign-made product.
Therefore, we will take a more objective look at the prices formed by the importer and trade. I think there will be no violations here, - the agency representative summed up.
