An important change has occurred on the Belarusian beer market. Fans of the foamy drink should know that it affects plastic bottles.

We are talking about the decision made by the government of the republic to postpone the date of the introduction of the ban on the sale of beer in this type of container by one year.

In particular, the aforementioned ban applies to plastic bottles with a volume of over 1.5 liters.

The new date for the introduction of the ban is January 1, 2026. By the way, the Council of Ministers' decision also applies to low-alcohol drinks with an alcohol content of no more than 7%.

This change is stipulated in the government decree (number 924 of December 6 of this year), published on the legal Internet portal of Belarus.

An important nuance for individual entrepreneurs and companies that will not have time to sell all of their relevant products by January 1, 2026, i.e. beer and low-alcohol drinks in polymer consumer packaging with a volume of more than 1.5 liters.

They are allowed to continue selling these products after January 1, 2026.

However, it is very important to monitor the expiration date of the product - to make sure that it has not expired.

Let us recall that there is currently a ban in Belarus on the sale of beer in plastic bottles with a volume of over two liters.
