On October 3, mass vaccination against influenza began in Belarus.
General practitioner Alexander Verbovikov explains whether it is necessary to take tests before getting a flu shot or whether a regular examination by a general practitioner is enough.
His recommendations are cited by BELTA .
As Verbovikov explained, children aged 6 months to 18 years and adults with chronic diseases are vaccinated against flu on a priority basis and free of charge.
Pensioners aged 65 and over and those who come into contact with a large number of people (retail workers, law enforcement officers, etc.) are also vaccinated free of charge.
According to the doctor, if a person undergoes a medical examination every year, it is enough to visit a therapist before vaccination.
Verbovikov recommended that those who had not visited a doctor for a long time take a general blood test and have a fluorography and electrocardiogram.
