Veterans of the Great Patriotic War can receive free health treatment in sanatoriums once a year.
This information was announced by the Deputy Head of the Main Department of Social Services and Social Assistance of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus, Nikolai Orel.
As Orel told the BELTA project “Country Speaks”, WWII veterans can undergo free health treatment in sanatoriums once a year.
Also, war veterans and disabled people have the right to financial assistance for health improvement if they do not go to a sanatorium for medical reasons. The amount of assistance is 10 BV (400 rubles).
Disabled persons of the 1st and 2nd groups have the right to free health treatment once every 2 years.
Unemployed veterans of labor receive health treatment on the basis of a preferential voucher on a first-come, first-served basis.
The turn comes approximately once every three years, depending on income and season, a person pays about 15-20% of the cost of the trip.
A trip to a sanatorium of the Ministry of Labor system costs on average 1,000 rubles, which means you will have to pay only 150-200 rubles.
Working veterans of labor are given vouchers at their place of work.
To undergo spa treatment and health improvement, you need to contact the Republican Health Improvement Center, its offices are located in all districts.
The occupancy rate of the Ministry of Labor’s sanatoriums specializing in helping the disabled and labor veterans is 100%, the agency representative added.
