Pepper is a spice that everyone knows. There are about 1,600 types of pepper, but one of the most commonly used is classic black pepper.
It is mainly used to flavor food, giving it a piquant note. However, it can also be used in washing clothes.
The next time you fill your washing machine with laundry, whites or colors, throw in 5-6 peppercorns.
Place the spices in a bag that will not let them fall out, as they can easily end up in different parts of your washing machine. Then add your usual detergent and run the desired program.
All colored clothes begin to fade over time, and white clothes turn gray.
Fading is caused not only by repeated washing, but mainly by the adhesion of detergent to the clothes.
If you add pepper when washing, your colored laundry will become brighter, black will become like coal, and white will become like pure snow.
Another option is to try crushing the pepper and adding it directly to the detergent compartment.
The spice will ensure that excess detergent drains away, preventing colors from fading. Moreover, thanks to pepper, you can also reduce the temperature of the water, thereby saving already expensive electricity.
In addition to pepper, you can use regular table salt. Add a tablespoon of salt to your washing powder.
Before washing, you can also create a salt bath (at the rate of two tablespoons per three liters of water), in which you should immerse the items for at least 30 minutes.
