The shortest cat in the world may be the cat Pixel.
She is a representative of the Munchkin breed and her height does not exceed 12 cm.
The International Cat Association recognized this breed in 1995. Its distinctive features are short legs and a height of no more than 15 centimeters.
For comparison, the height of a normal cat reaches 20 and even 25 cm. The Munchkin owes its peculiarity to a genetic mutation.
Due to the peculiarities of her pet, the owner applied to register the record in the Guinness Book of Records.
Representatives will have to take the necessary measurements, after which a decision will be made.
It is worth noting that Pixel may break the record of her mother, the cat Fizz. In 2012, she was recognized as the record holder.
Among cats, the record belongs to a pet named Rai – he grew to only 13.59 cm.
