One Indian man fell in love with cycling so much that he decided to set a world record.
Spoiler: he succeeded. Vaibhav Rajamani's name was entered into the Guinness Book of Records.
He was recognized as the man who rode the longest distance on a bicycle without using hands.
The man covered just over 150 km – 151.33 km to be precise.
The previous record holder in this category was Robert John Murray from Canada, who managed to ride a bicycle without using his hands for 130.29 km.
The record was set in Porvorim, Goa, India, and took Vaibhav 7 hours, 18 minutes and 13 seconds.
At the time the record was set, the young man was only 22 years old.
To realize his childhood dream and finally become famous, he trained for five years.
However, the grueling training was probably a joy for him, because, according to the record holder, from an early age he loved to ride a bicycle, visit different places and meet new people.
At first, Rajamani doubted that he would be able to accomplish what he had planned - he was overcome with thoughts about how to do it, whether he would break the record, and other things in the same spirit.
But his friends and family supported him through this difficult journey – they showed up for his training sessions and Vaibhav didn't want to let them down.
It turned out that the young man had worried in vain: after the first 10 km, all doubts disappeared from his head.
Music also helped him set the record – before the race, Rajamani made his own playlist, which helped him concentrate.
