Shotaro Ishinomori is a very famous Japanese manga artist.

This is what the creators of manga - Japanese comics - are called.

Ishinomori is mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records. And for good reason.

The fact is that the Japanese are the most prolific comic book author.

The compilers of the reference book took into account not the number of editions, but the number of pages in the works. The figure turned out to be incredible.

Biography of Shotaro Ishinomori

The future mangaka was born in early 1938.

He started creating comics at the age of 12.

Ishinomori's official debut as a manga author took place in 1954: it was in that year that his comics were first published. The work was printed in one of the Japanese magazines.

In 1956, Ishinomori moved from the provincial town of Tome to the capital of Japan, Tokyo.

Several years later, the mangaka gained wide fame: the manga he created, Cyborg 009, became very popular.

In the following decades, Ishinomori went on to create other popular comics, including Sabu and Ichi Investigate.

Ishinomori passed away in early 1998. After the celebrity's death, he was included in the Guinness Book of Records.

After all, it turned out that the total number of pages in all comics created by Isinomorni exceeds 128 thousand.
