Emilio Scotto from Argentina set an interesting record.
A man has completed the longest journey on a motorcycle.
The record-breaking voyage lasted… 10 years.
The compilers of the Guinness Book of Records did not ignore the Argentinean's achievement.
The future record holder was born in 1956.
For some time, Scotto was an employee of a pharmaceutical company.
However, a year before his 30th birthday, the man came to the conclusion that he wanted to travel.
The Argentine decided to dedicate his life to this activity. Scotto quit his job and went on a motorcycle trip.
The voyage began on January 17, 1985 and came to an end on April 2, 1995.
Over these 10 years, the motorcyclist traveled 735,000 kilometers and visited 214 countries.
Scotto described his impressions in a book, which was published in 2007 and had considerable success among readers.
And the compilers of the Guinness Book of Records came to the conclusion that the Argentinean had set a record: he had made the longest journey on a motorcycle. Since then, the name of Emilio Scotto has been mentioned in the reference book.
