The Story of John Minnock

Minnok was born in the fall of 1941.

The American faced excess weight in childhood. When Minnoch was 12 years old, his weight was 132 kilograms.

After 10 years, the figure was 46 kilograms higher.

And in the spring of 1978, Minnock's obesity had reached such a point that the man began to have problems with his heart and breathing.

The American had to be hospitalized. More than 10 people took part in the "movement" of the man, because the patient could not move independently.

The weigh-in showed an incredible result: 645 kilograms.

Minnok began following a diet under the supervision of doctors. The daily caloric intake of the diet was approximately 1200 kcal.

As a result, the man lost weight to 215 kilograms. He managed to lose almost 420 kilograms. Incidentally, thanks to this achievement, Minnok got into the Guinness Book of Records.

The American spent almost a year and a half in the hospital. The man, who had lost weight but was still seriously obese, was discharged from the medical facility.

However, two years later, Minnok was hospitalized again. It turned out that the man had gained weight from 215 to 432 kilograms.

Unfortunately, Minnoch never managed to completely overcome his illness. Excess weight undermined the American's health. The record holder passed away in the fall of 1983.
