A Minnesota farmer has managed to grow a truly enormous pumpkin, weighing 2,749 pounds or 1,247 kilograms.

It happened in 2023 - the fruit broke the world record and was awarded first place at the 50th World Pumpkin Weighing Championship, which is held every year in Half Moon Bay.

This was Travis Ginger's third win. By the way, he named the pumpkin Michael Jordan.

He previously won in 2022 with the 2,560-pound (1,161-kilogram) Maverick pumpkin and in 2020 with the 2,350-pound (1,065-kilogram) Tiger King pumpkin.

Ginger's previous pumpkins have set national records, but his latest creation has entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest, surpassing the world record - a 2,702-pound (1,226-kilogram) pumpkin grown by Italian farmer Stefano Cutrupi in 2021.

However, the costs were more than recouped – the American received 30 thousand dollars for winning the competition.

True, the farmer decided to use these funds to grow the next giant pumpkin.
