In the American state of Missouri there lived a horse named Thumbelina.
The animal was included in the Guinness Book of Records due to its miniature size.
Thumbelina's height was 43 cm and her weight was 26 kg.
This is very small even for a miniature horse: the height of representatives of the corresponding breeds can be up to 86 centimeters.
This horse was born in the spring of 2001.
It was later discovered that the animal was not just a miniature horse, but a dwarf miniature horse.
Soon after Thumbelina turned five, she came to the attention of the compilers of the Guinness Book of Records.
The reference book refers to the animal as "the smallest horse in the world."
Compared to other horses, Thumbelina was tiny and light. However, for her height, she was quite heavy: the horse could even be called fat.
Another distinctive feature of Thumbelina was her very short legs.
The record-breaking horse passed away in 2018.
Earlier we told you about a turtle named Advaita: it may be the oldest animal in history.
