Strawberries not only help you make a living, but also set records.
At least two such achievements are known.

Until recently, the absolute record holder was a berry grown by a Japanese farmer. In 2015, Koji Nakao presented the world with a berry weighing 250 grams.

But that is yesterday, and all because of Israeli competitors.

The new achievement, officially registered in the Guinness Book of Records, belongs to Israeli farmers – the Ariel family.

In 2022, they managed to grow a berry weighing 289 grams.

It reaches 18 cm in length, 34 cm in circumference, and the thickness of the fruit is 4 cm.

It is specified that this was the Ilan strawberry variety, bred by the Israel Organization for Agricultural Research.

Plants of this variety produce quite large berries.

The berry was grown in a rather cold season and developed slowly.

It managed to grow so big because several berries grew together and formed one large strawberry.

Nevertheless, the record was officially recognized.
