The Guinness Book of Records once named him "the dirtiest man on the planet."
This “title” was received by Iranian Amu Haji.
The man had not washed... for more than 60 years.
Despite the unsanitary conditions, this hermit became a long-liver. He died at the age of 95.
Amu Hadji (by the way, this is a nickname: there is no information about the real name of the record holder) was born in the summer of 1928.
The man was a hermit: he lived away from people in a primitive dwelling, as well as in a hole in the ground.
Amu Haji was afraid of water and hygiene products, so he did not wash for a long time.
In addition, the man ate carrion, drank dirty water, and smoked a lot.
The duration of the "no-wash period" has exceeded six decades.
In 2022, the residents of the village near where Amu Haji lived persuaded the hermit to wash himself.
The man overcame his fear, performed the hygiene procedure... and died shortly thereafter.
Amu Haji passed away in the fall of 2022. The hermit was 94 years old.
However, the death of a very old person may not have anything to do with washing.
And, of course, you shouldn’t try to repeat the “feat” of Amu Haji: don’t forget about the importance of hygiene.
