A world record has been set in the UK on a hospital gurney, and one might say it was by accident.
The fact is that record-breaker Tony Collins suddenly fell ill, and when he was taken to the hospital, he was left on a gurney for exactly 77 hours and 30 minutes.
The record was set in 2001 when Collins, 40, fell ill and was left on a gurney in the corridor of the Princess Margaret Hospital in Swindon.
Doctors quickly diagnosed the patient with a severe viral infection and offered treatment.
While they were looking for a bed in the ward for Collins, he was asked to wait on a gurney in the corridor.
In the end, the humble patient spent 77 hours and 30 minutes in the corridor.
The patient was under the supervision of nurses.
Oddly enough, after being discharged he had no complaints about the staff.
Moreover, after recovering, he gave the nurses who took care of him a microwave oven.
Then he decided that the time spent in a hospital corridor in public view should not go unnoticed and applied to the Guinness Book of Records.
But while his application was being considered, he was again rushed to the hospital, and again there was no room for him in the ward.
But this time, Tony lived in the hospital corridor for only 60 hours, but after that he decided not to give the microwave to anyone.
