The smallest city in the world is located in Croatia. The city of Hum is 100 meters long and has a population of 52 people.

The settlement was first mentioned in historical sources in 1102, and at that time the city was called Kholm.

The town of Kholm was founded as a guard settlement.

According to some sources, a watchtower first appeared here, from which several people watched to make sure that no enemy appeared.

Of the large-scale structures for the guards and their families, the bell tower was erected in the city in 1552.

And in 1802 it was decided to build a church.

At present, the city is a space surrounded by walls.

There are several streets here, and the number of residents varies depending on the season.

However, during the 2011 census, it was possible to count 30 people.

Ten years later, experts confidently spoke of positive dynamics, having already counted 52 people in Hum.
