The famous Statue of Liberty in the USA is not the tallest in the world, but it is no less popular.

The height record belongs to the "Statue of Unity". It is located in India and was erected in honor of the Deputy Prime Minister of this country Vallabhbhai Patel.

Patel was one of the leaders of the movement that advocated Indian independence.

The leader did a lot for the country and his people, for which it was decided to perpetuate his memory in the form of a statue with a pedestal.

The architectural composition is located on Sadhu Island near the Narmada River in the Indian state of Gujarat.

The statue of Vallabhbhai Patel is recognized as the tallest in the world.

Together with the pedestal, it reaches 240 meters. The bronze image of Patel itself reaches 182 meters in height.

For comparison, the Statue of Liberty is only 93 meters.

The monument to the political figure took six years to erect.

The construction required 25 thousand tons of steel, 135 tons of iron and 1850 tons of bronze.
