On which days and months are the fewest people born: even this has been calculated

Sometimes it seems that scientists have nothing better to do, looking at the discoveries that are being made and made public.

It would not be superfluous to recall that sometimes such discoveries are made completely by accident, that is, when there was no goal or objective at all.

In approximately this way, it was possible to calculate the days and months in which the fewest people are born.

It all started when Matt Stiles (a journalist and lecturer at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in California) decided to find out what event in his parents' lives preceded his conception.

Apparently unable to ask this question directly, he launched into lengthy calculations.

No doubt about it, but he had to study birth data for two decades.

The result of the enthusiast's hard work was a color birth rate map, which could be used to calculate the most popular and unpopular birthdays.

To be fair, it should be noted that the researcher took birth data exclusively from the United States. Therefore, in the rest of the world, things may be different.

The most popular period

As a result, Stiles came to the conclusion that most often people are born between July and September inclusive.

The researcher linked this to the gloomiest days of the year, which occur nine months before the child’s expected birth (October-December).

The most unpopular days

According to calculations, the fewest people are born on January 1st and 2nd.

Not much later than February 29th, and also in the last days of November and December.

That is, the birth rate (at least in the US) declines on the eve of Christmas and New Year.
