The worst jewellery advert ever: even its fans turned their backs on the company

There have been many failed attempts to attract the attention of the audience to one or another company, but Tiffany, it must be said, has surpassed them all.

Just a couple of years ago, in the summer of 2021, posters with the slogan “This is not your mother’s Tiffany” appeared on the streets of New York.

The same phrase was published on the company's social networks, as well as on its website.

And, it must be admitted, the PR people's efforts were noticed. True, not in the way they would have liked.

Advertisers simply wanted to attract a younger audience to stores, but instead they were faced with accusations of ageism.

The elegant and sophisticated ladies who had been Tiffany's clients for many years came to the conclusion that the company was no longer interested in them.

“The idea is not bad, but try to implement it in a way that does not offend other generations” – comments like this simply blew up the Internet.

What's interesting is that Tiffany's advertising almost word for word repeats the Oldsmobile slogan - This is not your father's Oldsmobile, which led to a drop in car sales by about a third. Apparently, Tiffany did not want to learn from the mistakes of others.
