What animals need a zoopsychologist: not only those taken from a shelter

The task of zoopsychologists, who, by the way, do an excellent job of it, is to make the life of a person with a pet more comfortable and easier.

In what cases to contact such a specialist is, of course, up to the owner himself to decide.

But some animals need help more than others – especially those taken from shelters, especially dogs.

The thing is that it is more difficult for them to adapt to a new environment, schedule and lifestyle. Therefore, when you take a dog from a shelter, try to find time to consult a zoopsychologist who will help establish contact, monitor the animal's behavior and correct it if necessary.

Cats that have spent some time in a shelter can also cause their owners some problems – usually with litter box training. The purrs also tear up wallpaper, mark their territory and show aggression – you must agree that help is simply necessary in such situations.

Domestic dogs may experience severe stress, and with it the need to visit a specialist, after being attacked by another animal during a walk. As a result, the animal begins to experience fear of the street and other dogs.

This is undesirable, since representatives of the same species must interact with each other.

A zoopsychologist will help your pet learn to calmly relate to other dogs and even play with them.

And, of course, you can’t do without a zoopsychologist in the event of the owner’s death, after which the pet falls into melancholy.

Dogs and cats also feel sad if there were several animals in the family and one of them died – then its relative may develop real depression.
