The "Sit" command is one of the most important for dogs to learn.
We will tell you how to teach your pet to perform it, regardless of the size of the animal or its breed.
For this you will need, of course, the dog itself (it must be hungry), and also a treat.
Show your dog that you have something tasty in your hand for him.
Slowly raise your hand with the treat in it, so that it is uncomfortable for your pet to eat while standing. This movement makes dogs look up and sit down.
When the dog sits, praise him and give him a treat. At this point, it is important that your speech is sincere and as emotional as possible.
Repeat these steps until your pet starts sitting down to follow the treat.
Then use one hand to lure the dog and give him a reward with the other.
It's time to give up the treat. Use the hand signal and the command "Sit" with your palm raised. If the dog sits, praise and reward it. If your four-legged friend is stubborn and does not hurry to follow the instruction, try the hand signal again.
If such a need arises, start all over again - perhaps your pet needs more time to master a new skill.
Once the dog has mastered the "Sit" command, gradually reduce the number of treats. But the flow of emotional praise should not be reduced.
