Caring for the health of our four-legged friends is the responsibility of every pet owner.
But sometimes, out of a desire to please their pet, people use “forbidden” methods – for example, they treat them with products that are strictly contraindicated for animals.
One such product is the most common chocolate. If you treat your dog with it, you are putting your pet's well-being at serious risk.
To begin with, it is worth noting that the taboo applies not only to chocolate bars, but also to any other cocoa products.
The reason for such a ban should be sought in the composition of cocoa.
The ingredients in this product include theobromine and caffeine, ingredients that dogs cannot metabolize effectively.
Even a small amount of chocolate can cause vomiting, diarrhea, rapid heartbeat, and even seizures in your pet. In severe cases, death is possible.
The darker the chocolate, the more dangerous it is for the dog.
The “forbidden” category also includes grapes and their dried version – raisins, as well as onions, garlic, avocado, macadamia, raw dough and bones.
Do not give your dog foods with artificial sweeteners and never, even as a joke, offer alcohol or coffee.
