Any owner knows that leaving cats behind closed doors is not a good idea. That at best, the pet will start screaming, but it may also start scratching the doors.
Some cats won't care about her at all until the owner closes the door. But as soon as the situation changes, the cat will find reasons.
American scientists from the University of California tried to find out why pets behave this way.
The results of the work were published in the journal Live Science.
The cat's psyche is structured in such a way that, upon seeing a closed door, the pet will try to open it, for which it will stick its paws under the door and scratch it.
At the same time, many cats show considerable activity and even anxiety as soon as the door is closed in front of them.
It can all be explained by reasons of innate curiosity or fear of losing access to something important to the pet.
Considering that cats themselves are accustomed to controlling freedom of movement and order in the territory they consider theirs, they prefer to make changes to the environment themselves.
Therefore, a closed door is an obstacle for them.
Owners should remember this and keep open those places where cats should have free access.
