As is known, smell is of great importance for any representative of the feline family.
Scent glands, which allow animals to leave behind a “scent,” are located all over the animal’s body – on its face, paws, around the eyes, etc.
With their help, cats mark their territory, reminding them that they are predators.
From this we can conclude that pets rub against objects (including their owner) in order to mark them.
But that's not all: in this way, pets show their special feelings towards people.
You may have noticed this yourself if you have ever fed stray cats.
As a rule, they try to rub against a person, even jumping up to do so and, undoubtedly, enjoying the process.
This is probably their way of making it clear that they would like to find an owner.
Earlier we talked about why a dog sheds at the wrong time.
