Among cat owners there are many lovers of fashionable haircuts.

Sometimes such people come to the following conclusion: “It would be nice to cut the cat’s hair.”

However, in most cases this dangerous idea should be abandoned.

The fact is that there is one simple rule that a cat owner simply must follow.

An important rule for cat owners

It reads as follows: "A cat should not be cut unless there is a medical indication for it."

The fact is that fur plays an important role in regulating the body temperature of the pet. Without a fur coat, the animal can get sick or get sunburned.

Besides, cats are stressed when they are groomed. Why put your pet through a lot of stress if it is not necessary?

In what cases can a cat be cut?

It makes sense to take this step before surgery or other medical procedure (related, for example, to the need to combat a skin disease).

But in these cases, the hair will be cut by specialists from a veterinary clinic.

The appearance of tangles is another possible reason for cutting the cat. But it should be emphasized: it is desirable to prevent the appearance of matted lumps of fur, and not to fight the problem that has already appeared. The desired result is achieved by periodic combing.

Thus, you can only cut your cat's hair in case of extreme necessity and after the appropriate decision of the veterinarian. But chasing fashion when caring for your purr is definitely not worth it.
