It is possible to train all cats without exception to walk outside - even those that are frankly afraid to step outside the apartment - when the animal gets used to it, it will happily walk outside the house.
The optimal age to start taking your cat outside is six months. As a kitten, your pet will adapt to walks faster and will consider them the norm.
Before taking your cat outside for the first time, make sure it has had all the necessary vaccinations.
In addition, it is better to postpone walks if the animal is not sterilized or if the cat is in heat.
When walking, you need to watch your cat closely and be sure to keep it on a leash.
Keep in mind that a cat is not a dog, it will not listen to you and follow you around. Cats have an independent character, they prefer to walk on their own, and you just have to accompany them.
Don't yell at your cat or try to pressure her - this can only make the situation worse. Be patient, use treats to reward your cat for good behavior.
There is another important prohibition: do not force the cat to leave the house. If you are carrying the cat in a bag, just put the bag on the ground in the right place so that the cat can get used to the new environment and come out on its own. Give it time and remember that cats like to do what they like. Perhaps the first time the cat does not want to come out of the bag at all, and this is normal.
Gradually, when the cat gets used to walking, it will begin to leave the bag on its own and explore the world around it.
Previously we talked about how to find out which chickens lay eggs and which don’t.
