When choosing a dog breed, it is necessary to take into account every detail, and especially the character and lifestyle of the future owner.

But beginners in this business need to be even more careful. According to experts, they should stay away from certain breeds.

When choosing a dog, it is important not to focus on appearance. It is necessary to take into account many factors: temperament, activity level, social qualities, trainability and care needs. There are certain dog breeds that I would not recommend to those who have never had a pet, - the head of the Russian Cynological Federation Vladimir Golubev told the CDI in an interview.

In general, the specialist immediately advised beginners to exclude the purchase of a husky or a Tibetan mastiff. But that's not all.

1. Golubev does not recommend beginners to get active dogs. They need to be loaded daily with active walks, training, lessons, and visits to a trainer.

These can be husky or Jack Russell Terrier breeds.

2. Next on the list are guard breeds. The mentioned Tibetan Mastiff, Caucasian Shepherd, are good in this regard and will protect the territory. But you can’t do without communication with an experienced dog trainer. These dogs require serious attitude and increased attention.

3. Hunting dogs. Laikas and greyhounds will suffer without exercise or long walks with exercise. It will be difficult to predict the dog's behavior in a city apartment.

4. If the breed requires special care, then it is also better for a beginner to refuse to buy it. The dog handler gives the example of the Afghan hound, whose fur requires special care. Without plucking, it deteriorates, and the dog may begin to have health problems.
