What could this be related to?
Age
Experts note that middle-aged and older animals drink relatively little liquid. But young dogs may surprise you with the amount of water they drink.
Physical parameters
It is worth remembering that the fluid intake rate of dogs depends on their physical parameters. Therefore, a large dog will drink significantly more than a medium-sized dog.
If you are used to small animals, then at first such thirst will surprise you.
Nutrition
Even humans can experience increased thirst if they eat certain foods. This rule also applies to dogs.
Other reasons
Increased thirst is observed in pregnant dogs. Do not forget about hot weather: at such moments everyone feels the need for liquid.
Sometimes the reason is more interesting: if the water turns out to be tasty (for example, you offered your pet a bottled version), then the dog may start drinking more.
