Many cats are known to refuse to finish food from half-empty bowls.
We'll tell you why our pets do this and how to wean them off it.
It's possible that you're simply feeding your pet too much food, but more often than not, it's the animal's instinct for self-preservation.
It causes the cat to not only leave food in the bowl, but also to hide food or try to “bury” the bowl.
There are two ways out of this situation. The first is to not add food until the cat has finished eating.
Sooner or later, the pet will give in and eat everything that is left in the bowl.
The second option, more humane and effective, is to feed the cat in small portions. A couple of tablespoons of food at a time is quite enough.
