American scientists have come to an interesting conclusion during their research. According to experts, the number of domestic animals is associated with a serious threat.

More precisely, apartments that resemble Noah's Ark can serve as an indicator of the "Plyushkin syndrome" in their owners.

What do scientists say?

American researchers from the University of Mississippi believe that the more pets a person has, the more likely he is to be prone to a mental disorder named after the famous character of N. V. Gogol – Plyushkin.

The pathological desire to drag whatever comes into the house, also known as “Plyushkin syndrome,” can manifest itself in the number of cats and dogs in the house.

Scientists propose identifying people with this disorder by the number of pets they have.

There is an opinion that an “unhealthy” number of cats is found in the homes of mentally unstable women.

However, the hoarding syndrome itself is not associated with gender characteristics.

Having studied similar cases from ten years ago, scientists came to the conclusion that people who clutter their homes often have dozens of pets. And this is not good for the animals, people, or their neighbors.

It also turned out that in the United States, cats and dogs are more often owned by atheists than by religious people.
