The language of animals is incomprehensible to humans, and there is no prospect that it will one day be deciphered. However, scientists are not discouraged.

Research has shown that there are ways for humans to communicate with cats that allow them to find a common language within the limits of what is possible and learn to understand each other.

Experts cite visual and bimodal cues as the reference point.

In other words, cats are able to draw conclusions from gestures and sounds that a person makes.

Scientists involved 12 cats aged 3-7 years in their work. These were domestic, sterilized and castrated cats.

The animals were tested in their usual environment in the presence of two people, one of whom recorded the actions and was motionless.

First, the cats were fed by giving various signals, by hand, voice, eyes, etc. Then the scientists compared the various reactions of the animals.

As it turned out, most often the pets responded by wagging their tails, and this was the only reaction to the fact that the owner either did not communicate with the animal at all, or called it with his voice.

Scientists have concluded that this tail movement is evidence of frustration. A cat can react to a person in such a way that it is in the same room with them, but does not pay any attention to them.

In order to make friends with a pet and find a common language, scientists advise a person to use not only voice commands, but also gestures.
