There is an opinion that domestic cats treat the person who takes them in either as their master or as a servant.
Moreover, it has been noted that the authority for the pet is not always the one who feeds it. The cat distributes roles among family members approximately like this.
For the cat, this person will become a real authority, to whom it will come first. Even if in response to the plaintive meowing from this person the cat does not receive even basic sympathy, not to mention a crust of bread.
The owner and the cat should be close in temperament and be like real friends.
A cat will always come to such a person on its lap, follow him around like he’s tied up, wait for him at the bathroom door, rub against his legs after a long absence, sleep next to him, and so on.
It is not the most honorable mission that awaits someone who cannot establish a meaningful emotional connection with a pet.
The cat will trust these people to wash the bowl or tray, will play with them, demand food, but at the first opportunity it will run away to the owner.
