Why you shouldn't put a scratching post near the TV, and a couple more places that are unsuitable for the "accessory"
If you have a cat, then you should have a scratching post. Of course, if you don’t want your furry pet to use the carpet or upholstered furniture for its needs.
However, one must not lose sight of the fact that placing a useful device in a random place is not a good idea.
For example, an area next to a TV is definitely a bad idea, as is the case with any other expensive equipment.
The whole point is that the cat, accidentally or intentionally, can touch the device, after which you will have to go either to a TV repair service or to a new electronics store.
In addition, you shouldn’t take the scratching post to the kitchen.
This ban is explained by the fact that something is constantly happening in the “food block” area, which is why the cat will not devote time to the routine procedure, preferring to participate in much more exciting activities.
And tipping a scratching post over onto a bowl of water or food is a piece of cake.
