Dog owners should remember that vaccination does not protect against ticks, but against the consequences of their bites.

Otherwise, you need to use special protective equipment, of which there are many in modern stores, from tablets and drops to collars and clothing. We will tell you about alternative options.

1. Tablets

These are unusual pills in the human understanding, which you still need to manage to shove into the pet's mouth. Modern developments are presented in chewable form, animals like their taste, and the active substances that are part of the potion are activated within a couple of hours.

The active component enters the pet's blood and provides reliable protection against the consequences of a bite.

2. Drops

This product is even easier to use than tablets. They are applied to the withers, penetrate the sebaceous glands, not the bloodstream, and act externally. Such a dog will not attract ticks. The protection will last for 30 days, but after using the product, the dog is not washed or allowed to bathe for two days.

3. Collar

This is a thin rim made of synthetic material, impregnated with active substances that repel ticks. But this thing begins to work fully after 2-4 days, as it ends up on the pet's neck.

4. Shampoo

It only reduces the risk of a tick settling in the dog's fur, but does not guarantee complete protection. It is better to combine it with other preparations or use it for single trips to the forest or to the country.

5. Workwear

This is a relatively new solution - a dog jumpsuit. Only, unlike the winter version, the clothes are sewn from light and breathable material with traps for parasites, located in places where ticks and other animals are likely to penetrate. Protective preparations are applied here, and the insect that gets into such a trap simply has no chance of surviving.
