They get a pet on a whim
A cat requires a lot of attention and care. First of all, everyone who lives in rented apartments should think about this. A pet can ruin someone else's furniture or wallpaper, and the tenant will be responsible for this.
They only take small kittens
An adult cat has many advantages. It is possible that it will be more obedient, it will be less playful and active, it will respond to love and attention better than a stupid kitten, and it will get used to the litter box faster.
