What to do if you picked up a kitten on the street and decided to keep it: a clear plan

Unfortunately, situations where a pet is thrown out onto the street are quite common in our lives.

If you come across a meowing lump and decide to take it home, first of all, try to warm the baby up as quickly as possible, especially if it is not summer outside, but the cold season.

The next thing you should do is feed the animal. The best option is ready-made food bought at a pet store. Alternatively, offer the poor thing baby food, mixing vegetable puree with meat. But food is still better.

If there are other animals or small children in the home, isolate the foundling for 14 days, providing it with a bowl and litter box.

Most likely, you will find fleas on your cat. To avoid subjecting your pet to another stressful bath, wipe it with wet wipes and use special flea drops that need to be applied to the withers.

Be sure to contact your vet, even if the kitten appears healthy. This should probably be the first item on the list.

Most likely, the specialist will prescribe a deworming drug for the fluffy one. If for some reason you cannot visit the doctor, deworming treatment should be carried out in any case.

All that remains is to give the cat the necessary vaccinations, the schedule of which is drawn up by the veterinarian, and after the vaccination course, you can safely introduce the new family member to the rest.
