If you have a cat, you've probably tried to meow at least once.
Your pet may even have responded to you. But does that mean he understood you?
According to research, adult cats use meowing only to communicate with humans.
They communicate with each other using non-verbal language (smells, body movements).
Humans don't understand this language, so cats have to meow to attract attention.
But this, of course, does not mean that the cat can understand the owner's meowing.
If your pet meows in response, it’s simply because he needs something from you at that moment.
But cats perfectly understand the intonation with which a person speaks.
If you want to establish contact with your cat, simply speak to it in a calm, gentle voice.
