If you don’t yet know what affirmations are, we will quickly explain this confusing term.
Affirmations are usually understood as positive self-hypnosis phrases that have become extremely popular lately.
For example, standing in front of a mirror or listening to music intended for meditation, you can say: “I am happy”, “I am healthy”, “I have a lot of money”, etc.
But be careful: sometimes repeating affirmations may not improve, but on the contrary, worsen your emotional state, so before using them in practice, it would not hurt to study the theoretical side of the issue.
First of all, when writing affirmations, it is worth remembering that they must be realistic and achievable.
Unrealistic statements create false expectations, which in turn lead to increased disappointment.
Instead of repeating the phrase, “I will become a millionaire within a year,” try focusing on specific actions that will contribute to financial success, such as, “I am improving my financial literacy and learning about investing.”
For best results, use affirmations after discussing the issue with your therapist. Consultation is necessary to prevent negative consequences and make self-hypnosis more effective.
Finally, remember that affirmations will not work without action on your part. The therapeutic process is about becoming aware of your feelings, identifying them, and finding effective ways to overcome them.
