A British woman shared an unusual secret of her extraordinary longevity.
On March 16, 2023, Mary Clifton celebrated her 108th birthday.
On her birthday, the woman even received a congratulatory telegram from the British King Charles III.
Journalists asked Clifton how she managed to live to such a respectable age.
Mary noted with a bit of humor that she had never been a teetotaler and allowed herself “a glass with dinner” and at parties, reports the My London portal.
"Work hard, but have fun even harder. A little hard work never hurt anyone," Clifton said when asked about the secrets to her longevity.
Mary was born in the midst of the First World War – in 1915. Even in her school years, she was interested in fashion, so after her studies she worked as a clothes cutter. In her mature years, she worked for her daughter’s company, which was engaged in the printing business.
Mary met her now deceased husband in high school. She is now a widow, but has two children, four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
