In Minsk, a 39-year-old woman tried to buy medicine using a fake prescription. For this, she was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
By the way, the woman had been convicted several times before. The last time was for using a knowingly forged document.
This was reported by the Minsk-Novosti agency with reference to the prosecutor's office of the Pervomaisky district of the capital.
A friend helped out
Attention is also drawn to the fact that the citizen had been addicted to illegal substances for a long period of time and was registered with a drug addiction specialist.
Once I asked a friend how I could buy medicine without a prescription.
He gave her a blank form, which the accused filled out and went with it to the pharmacy on Gintovta Street.
After studying the prescription, the pharmacist asked the Minsk resident to wait a bit and left, as she suspected something was wrong.
A few days later, the buyer was detained and another criminal case was opened against her.
It is known that the defendant admitted her guilt and repented of committing the illegal act.
During the investigation of the case, it was discovered that the prescription forms, including the one presented by the lady, were listed as lost, and pharmacy employees were notified of this.
Three times convicted
As for the personality of the convicted person, she is unemployed and is an obligated person, said Yulia Lugovskaya, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Pervomaisky District.
According to her, the woman had previously been convicted three times:
– for failure to reimburse expenses for the maintenance of children in state care;
- for illegal trafficking of prohibited substances for the purpose of sale (twice).
The citizen is currently serving her sentence in a penal colony.
The court found the woman guilty of using a knowingly forged document and sentenced her to two months' arrest.
For the totality of the crimes, by partial addition of the main punishment and full addition of the additional punishment, appointed by the sentence of the Leninsky District Court of June 27, 2024, and the punishment appointed by this sentence, the accused was finally sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 11 years and 1 month.
She will spend all this time in a maximum security penal colony. In addition, she was also fined 12,000 rubles.
According to the verdict, the convicted woman will undergo compulsory treatment for drug addiction.
