A local resident contacted the capital's law enforcement officers: she reported that her 9-year-old daughter had given more than $5,000 to scammers.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus reported the details of the incident on its official Telegram channel.

According to information released by the department, the child received a call via messenger from an unknown man.

The interlocutor stated that there was allegedly a large debt on her phone balance.

The girl was given the following advice: so that her mother wouldn’t find out, she had to find money in the apartment and give it to the courier, who would help deposit it into the account.

She did as she was told: she searched the house and found cash.

Without telling her parents about this, the girl took the money out the next day after receiving a call – she gave it to a female courier at the playground.

The police found out who took the currency: it was a 39-year-old resident of Soligorsk, who also became a victim of fraudsters.

She believed the villains that she allegedly had a large debt.

Following their instructions, I took out a loan to pay off the debt, after which I went to Minsk and took the cash from the girl.

The woman has been detained. A criminal case has been opened on the fact of large-scale fraud.
