It's no secret that a person who is head over heels in love with his other half can cheat.

Until recently, scientists did not understand why this happens and what reasons push lovers to cheat. The discovery turned out to be no less strange.

The answer to this question was sought by employees of the California State University. The results were published in the journal Deviant Behavior.

According to experts, the level of romantic relationships does not affect the conscientiousness of lovers and does not provide any guarantee in terms of marital fidelity.

If a person has decided to cheat, then there is no stopping him. No matter how wonderful the relationship in the couple is.

The fact is that the decision is made unconsciously and the result depends on internal motives and attitudes, as well as the moral qualities of the individual.

That is, betrayal is not influenced by a lack of love, intimate relationships or passion.

The researchers came to these conclusions after conducting surveys of 2,000 married volunteers.

It turned out that the only factor that prevents cheating is devotion to an existing relationship.

The risk of marital infidelity in this case is reduced by 78%.

The remaining conditions have no effect on the fidelity of the spouses.
