At the end of this summer, a tragedy occurred in one of the villages of the Rossony district of the Vitebsk region.
Friends dropped by a local resident's house. They relaxed, chatted, and drank.
At some point, the company went outside to smoke, but the owner, an alcoholic, stayed at home.
When they returned, he was unconscious. It was not possible to save the man.
This was reported by the official representative of the State Forensic Expertise Department for the Vitebsk Region, Natalya Romanova.
According to her, the smokers returned to the house after 20-30 minutes.
Having found our comrade unconscious and showing no signs of breathing, we attempted to perform indirect heart massage.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to save my friend. The ambulance medics who arrived at the scene pronounced him dead.
A forensic examination was carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
The forensic expert found no signs of mechanical asphyxia or heart failure.
However, the blood alcohol concentration was 4.5 ppm, which is a lethal dose, noted the representative of the State Forensic Examination Department.
She added that rib fractures were also found, but their characteristics indicated that the fractures occurred after the man's death, when he was receiving chest compressions.
Conclusion of the examination: the citizen died from acute ethyl alcohol poisoning.
It is believed that while no one was home, the man drank a large amount of alcohol in a relatively short period of time.
This led to acute intoxication and death of the owner of the home, Natalya Romanova reported.
